Preface

This book brings together several carefully reviewed papers in the broad areas of optimization and numerical analysis, with a particular emphasis on algorithms. The volume is a compendium of topics presented at the interdisciplinary workshop on Splitting Algorithms, Modern Operator Theory, and Applications, held at Casa Matemática Oaxaca (CMO) in Mexico, September 17–22, 2017. The participants came from Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Spain, Sweden, and the United States. Most papers in this volume grew out of talks delivered at this workshop. We believe that the reader will find this volume to be a valuable snapshot of the state of the art.
