Locating new economic mineral deposits is becoming increasingly difficult now in any country, since there is little chance for searching fresh in situ outcrops with surface signature of mineralisation that has not been geologically mapped or reported by national surveys or other agencies. This is because in a country like India the Geological Survey of India (GSI) which is one of the oldest organization of the world is actively engaged in geological work for about 170 years and the entire country has been mapped on 1 : 50,000 scale by now.
