The pragmatic way forward to supply energy for a future quality living has to be threaded on a fusion path, where conventional energy is unceasingly refined as major renewable energy is made more financially sustainable. This proceeding contains a highlight of preeminent advances of energy, including a touch on the associated politics. A general and largely unbiased (unpolitically corrected) disclosure on the policy, politics, and practice of energy and sustainability is ushered by Reader in Chapter “Energy and Sustainability: Policy, Politics and Practice”.
