My work on this book is dedicate to Dr. Richard J. Baron, President and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation, who in the early 1990s, while we were both at Health Partners of Philadelphia, introduced me to the transformational work of Dr. Avedis Donabedian.
