Posttraumatic deformity is a fascinating subject, which often crosses professional boundaries. It therefore frequently requires the skills and expertise of many differing specialties. This collaboration brings with it new knowledge and techniques, which might otherwise be unavailable under any one specialty. For this reason, this volume has been written with the help of a diverse group of specialists, all of whom are currently active and well published in their chosen fields. We have also endeavoured to make this book more “international,” as practices can vary across the globe. Like Atlas of Operative Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery: Primary Repair of Facial Injuries, this is a book of “options”—many deformities can be corrected or camouflaged using one of several techniques. Disfiguring deformities are among the most formidable challenges faced not only by surgeons but also by psychologists, pai
