Foreword I
In 2012, while riding the high-speed train to Nanjing, Yin Weidong and I discussed a report analyzing the overall statistics of 198 Zhongguancun listed companies (ZLCs): I found the report quite surprising. In the past, discussions about Zhongguancun focused heavily on its emerging tech companies and their innovations. Although ZLCs’ total market capitalization had already reached 1.3 trillion RMB at that time, there was a lack of data and integrated information on these companies.
