Various toxicities: 3 case reports In a study of 52 patients conducted between 2012 and 2016, 3 patients [ages and sexes not stated] were described, who developed supraventricular tachycardia, significant blood pressure decreased, urticaria, angioedema, airway obstruction or anaphylaxis during oral challenge with aspirin. The patients, who had symptoms of hypersensitivity due to unspecified nonsteroidal-anti-inflammatories were hospitalised and underwent oral challenge with aspirin. The oral challenge with aspirin was performed a minimum of 7 days following discontinuation of unspecified antihistamines. On day 1, the patients received placebo i.e. lactose in identical-looking capsule and on day 2 received oral challenge with aspirin capsule [dosages not stated]. However, one patient developed supraventricular tachycardia, and not required any additional treatment. Two patients experienced blood pressure decreased, urticaria, angioedema and airway obstruction. One of these developed anaphylaxis and required adrenaline, and reaming patient did not required any intervention [duration of treatment to reaction onsets and outcomes not stated].
