Letrozole Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome: 2 case report

In a retrospective study involving review of the medical records of 45 adult women (aged 22–44 years) with breast cancer, who had visited University of the Ryukyus, Japan, for fertility preservation from February 2011 to May 2019, two adult women [exact ages not stated] were described, who developed severe ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) during treatment with letrozole for fertility preservation in breast cancer. Both the adult women, who had breast cancer and polycystic ovarian syndrome, started receiving letrozole for fertility preservation [dosages and routes not stated]. Subsequently, both the patients developed severe OHSS [durations of treatments to reactions onsets not stated]. The oestrogen levels were however found to be low. Consequently, both the patients required hospitalisation for 5 days and for 9 days, respectively [outcomes not stated]. Mekaru K. Fertility preservation in patients with breast cancer.
