Thyroiditis with painless goitre: case report In a case series of 9 patients, an adolescent patient [sex and exact age not stated] was described, who developed thyroiditis with painless goitre during treatment with minocycline for acne. The patient with acne had been receiving treatment with minocycline [dosage and route not stated]. Subsequently, the patient developed thyroiditis with painless goitre [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. Thereafter, the thyroiditis had resolved. Author comment: "Minocycline is known to cause to pathologic changes in the thyroid gland." "Thyroiditis was symptomatic in all but one case, who presented with painless goiter."
