Introduction

Trauma is an unexpected damage to the body by external forces such as traffic accident, fall, violence, and other causes. Every patient has a different injury mechanism, severity, and anatomic disruption. When the patients rush into emergency room in an accident, physician start to managing and treating under high-pressure scene. Even in the middle of chaos situation with anxiety, the professionals need to approach from the head to toe. However, injury which is more harm to patient should be managed with a priority to improve the patient’s survival and reduce mortality and morbidity. The primary approach to polytrauma patient is the most important step for successful treatment. The critical period immediately after injury, so called ‘golden hour’ is very essential. Initial rapid and systematic approach can result in better clinical outcomes and reduce preventable death rate. This book deals with the primary management of polytrauma patients. With initial approach to identify life-threatening injury, specific organ injuries were review
