Acknowledgments
This book is a synthesis of a work that has involved different research groups in the last 4 years. The work has involved Universities and research centers of different countries (Bocconi, Milan; IUAV, Venice – Italy, Budapest – Hungary, Leipzig and Brandenburg – Germany, Krakow – Poland, Bath – United Kingdom), but also researchers who operate in research centers of local governments or that have been aggregate from these institutions. The original idea of the research model (CoUrbIT – Complex Urban Investment Tools) has been developed by Bocconi University and an international network was created around it. The implementation of this research has been made possible by the use of European Funds (Interreg IIIB CADSES Programme) and with the involvement of a large number of researchers. It is very difficult to mention and thank all the colleagues and people that have collaborated on this research. Great thanks are directed primarily to Elisa Ricciuti and Veronica Vecchi from Bocconi University, who have contributed to make this book possible. They have carefully worked on this research project for 4 years. Other thanks are directed to Prof. Stefano Stanghellini and Sergio Copiello (IUAV University of Venice); Prof. Ga´bor Locsma´ndi (Technical University of Budapest–Department of Urban Design); Prof. Silke Weidner, Jens Gerhardt, Jan Schaaf, Nadja Riedel (University of Technology–Urban Management, Brandenburg), who alongside me have written the chapters for this book. Particular thanks go
