Bleeding and lack of efficacy: case report In a retrospective study of 2794 patients who were hospitalised at a medical center in USA between 1 January 2006 and 31 August 2007 and who received anticoagulation therapy with warfarin by the anticoagulation management service (AMS), a patient [age and sex not stated] was described, who developed bleeding and also executed lack of efficacy during anticoagulation therapy with warfarin [dosage and route not stated] for prophylaxis of postoperative venous thromboembolism. The patient, who had undergone an unspecified surgery, started receiving anticoagulation therapy with warfarin, which was managed by the AMS for prophylaxis of postoperative venous thromboembolism. However, the patient subsequently exhibited bleeding complication [duration of treatment to reaction onset and outcome not stated]. Additionally, the patient found to have developed thrombosis despite the prophylactic anticoagulation (LOE). Fowler S, et al.
