Preface Science is the facilitator between imagination and reality —(Anonymous)

Since the last edition of this book, the pace of technology has accelerated. The major cancer genome projects have been finished and shown that next-generation sequencing is the winning technology for high-throughput expression profiling. In this book we have brought together the experiences of leading scientists in the discipline of cancer gene profiling. We have included different techniques, since cancer genes can be profiled in different ways. Such different approaches are needed to understand the key stages of cancer development, as using only one technique would be insufficient. Therefore this book attempts to give an overview of the state-of-the-art methods, which wi
