Angioedema-like allergic contact dermatitis: case report A 47-year-old woman applied Otocerum, a cerumenolytic, which contained castor oil [dosage not stated], chlorobutanol, benzocaine, turpentine oil, and phenol 5% pet, into her left ear. Several hours later, she developed urticated lesions on her neck and facial swelling. She was administered systemic treatment and her swelling settled down without desquamation. Her skin patch test was positive for castor oil and not benzocaine, turpentine oil, and phenol 5% pet (chlorobutanol was not available for a patch test). Sanchez-Guerrero IM, et al.
