Docetaxel Radiation recall dermatitis: case report A 49-year-old man with non-small cell lung cancer received palliative radiation at a dose of 300Gy over 10 days, to his thoracic vertebrae and ribs. Three weeks later, three weekly courses of chemotherapy with docetaxel were initiated. He received the first chemotherapy cycle with docetaxel [dosage not stated] and cisplatin. Five days later, he developed a severe skin reaction with an erythematous, tender skin eruption on the anterior area of his upper left thorax. The region corresponded anteriorly with the radiation portal. The skin reaction was thought to be associated with docetaxel and previous radiotherapy. He received supportive care and subsequently improved. Author comment: "In our opinion, the severe skin reaction was clearly associated with the application of docetaxel and constitutes a recall phenomenon after previous radiotherapy." Mogulkoc N, et al.
