BCG associated complications and ulcer: case report A boy [age at reaction onset not stated] developed recurrent ulcer and disseminated BCG associated complications, following administration of BCG vaccine [dosage and route not stated]. The boy presented at the age of 9 months to hospital with recurrent fever, enlargement of right axillary lymph node and cough. He had a medical history of multiple hospital admissions due to pneumonia, failure to thrive and persistent BCG ulcer. He additionally had disseminated BCG associated complications [specific events not stated]. He had various other co-morbidities in the setting of underlying severe combined immunodeficiency (SCID). Empirical treatment [specific drugs not stated] was initiated for disseminated BCG associated complications. The boy developed thrombocytopenia, which improved with gammaglobulin.
