Alendronic acid Muscle and joint pain: case report In a study involving 50 patients, a patient [age and sex not stated] was described, who experienced joint and muscle pain while receiving alendronic acid for osteoporosis. The patient, who had osteoporosis with chronic kidney disease, started receiving oral alendronic acid [alendronate] 70mg tablet once every week for 6 weeks. Subsequently, the patient experienced joint and muscle pain; however, alendronic acid was not discontinued [duration of treatment to reaction onset and outcome not stated].
