Aripiprazole Arousal during sleep: case report A 44-year-old woman experienced arousal during sleep following treatment with aripiprazole for halitophobia and oral dysesthesia. The woman, who was diagnosed with oral dysesthesia and halitophobia, started receiving aripiprazole 0.5mg [route and frequency of drug administration not stated]. Subsequently, the uncomfortable feeling in the mouth was somewhat relieved. She did not have any side-effects of aripiprazole, except arousal during sleep for a few days [duration of treatment to reaction onset not stated]. Four months after her first visit, her underlying symptoms worsened due to a job change. Thus, the dose of aripiprazole was increased from 0.5mg to 1mg. Thereafter, her symptoms continued to improve. Author comment: "No obvious side effects were observed except arousal during sleep for a few days." Takenoshita M, et al.
