Hypoglycaemia: case report An 87-year-old woman developed hypoglycaemia during treatment with levofloxacin for community-acquired pneumonia. The woman had a medical history of well controlled type II diabetes, heavy smoking, hyperlipidaemia, chronic kidney disease, arterial hypertension, hyperthyroidism, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and frailty syndrome. She had been receiving glimepiride for type II diabetes mellitus and thiamazole [methimazole] for hyperthyroidism. She was admitted for acute anterior STsegment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI). On admission, the glycated haemoglobin level was 5.5%.
