Postural syncope, intensive muscle spasms and dyspnoea: 2 case reports In a prospective, single-centre cohort study involving 642 women admitted to the hospital in Poland due to the first trimester miscarriage (prior to 14th week of gestation) between 2011–2015, two women were described [ages not stated], who experienced postural syncope and intensive muscle spasms (n=1) or dyspnoea (n=1) following treatment with misoprostol for pharmacological induction of abortion. Two women, who were admitted to the hospital due to the first-trimester miscarriage, were started on vaginal misoprostol 800µg repeatedly for pharmacological induction of abortion. However, due to misoprostol, one woman experienced postural syncope and intensive muscle spasms, and the other woman experienced dyspnoea [duration of treatment to reactions onsets and outcomes onset not stated].
