Comemso | Measurement Laboratory in the Trunk

© Comemso

Both vehicle inter-operability measurements in the field and standardconformity tests in the laboratory can be executed with the Comemso EVCA Multi Mobile. The portable device covers all standards for AC, DC-CCS type 1 + 2, CHAdeMO and DC China (GB/T). No modification is necessary to set the desired charging standards, this is done using the built-in side-flaps. Communication and charging progress can be automatically checked for standard-conformity and all details are logged. The system also enables the use of complete test libraries for standard-conformity testing. All results are stored on a connected PC, where they can be viewed in real-time or post-processed. Additional functions are available particularly for the inter-operability measurements between electric vehicle and the charging station, for example the non-interfering monitoring of the protocol between the EV and the EVSE, reading the protocol espite encryption or changing protocol notifications.

EA Elektro-Automatik | Infineon | Testing Bi-directional Laboratory Power Supplies

The bi-directional power supply PSB 1000 from Elektro-Automatik is the ideal solution for testing electric powertrains, simplifying the test bed layout and reducing test times. Thanks to Infineon’s discrete 1200 V CoolSiC Mosfets, the system operates at over 96 % efficiency. Used as an electronic load, the energy is fed back into the grid and only low amounts of energy are converted into heat. The bi-directional laboratory power supplies PSB 10000 4U are configurable to a complete system from 30 to 1920 kW. The power density in a 4HE 19" housing is 30 kW. Voltages from 60 to 2000 V and currents of several thousand amps are available. To facilitate the integration in a test bed, the devices provide analog and digital interfaces, Ethernet and USB are available as standard, CAN, CANopen, Profinet, EtherCat, Modbus and RS232 are optional.

Fraunhofer ILT | Laser Ablation The Fraunhofer Institute for Laser Technology ILT has developed a method whereby anode material used in lithium ion batteries can be ablated quickly and without damage using ultrafast laser beam. This process exposes the electrical contact areas called tabs. Instead of technically complicated partial coating, the entire foil can be completely coated and only those areas designated for electrical contacts are then exposed using the laser. The USP laser is able to remove graphite-based anode material at a rate of up to 1760 mm³/min from a 10 μm thin copper foil without damaging it. ATZ electronics worldwide 12|2020

Equipmake | Semikron | Inverter with High Power Density Equipmake has launched an inverter on the market that, besides AC-DC conversion, also adjusts timings to the adapt the frequency of the AC to control the speed of the motor. The HPI-450 offers ASIL-D functional safety standards and is a cost-effective choice for lowvolume manufacturers of hig
