Akasol | High-performance Battery Systems for Commercial Vehicles

According to the company, the new lithium-ion battery system AKASystem OEM 50 PRC from Akasol, with a maximum drive power of 450 kW, enables the full hybridization of heavy trucks and thus could pave the way for an emission-free future of commercial transport. The scalable battery system could be used in plug-in hybrid applications as well as in fully electric commercial vehicles due to its high energy content of 33.6 kWh per system, its high cycle stability in connection with a charging power of 100 kW and discharge powers of maximum 150 kW compared to conventional high performance battery systems. On longer downhill gradients, the braking energy can be recuperated and thus used again for the next acceleration process. In particular, the broad temperature range of the battery system from -30 to +60 °C ensures according to Akasol that sufficient energy and power are available for the vehicle under all operating conditions until the thermal management system has returned the battery to the optimum temperature range.

Inter Control | Compact Controller with Integrated Emergency Stop Safety Function Inter Control has rounded off its product portfolio with the low-cost control unit digsy fusion E. According to the company, a high-performance 32-bit CPU (200 MHz) provides sufficient computing power. With 47 multifunctional inputs/outputs (of which up to 31 outputs), the controller could have enough inputs/outputs to automate small to medium sized vehicles or machines without additional control components. Programming is carried out using the widely used development environment Codesys 3.5. The integrated emergency stop safety function can help to save space and reduce system costs. In addition to the three CAN bus interfaces available as standard, the controller is optionally available with USB or Ethernet interface.

Liebherr | Telescopic Wheel Loader

With the L 509 Tele telescopic wheel loader Liebherr combines the lifting height and reach of a regular telescopic loader with the productive handling performance of a classic wheel loader, according to the company. The telescopic wheel loader thus could combine the advantages of two machine classes in one product. The speeder version of the Liebherr L 509 stereo loader served as the basis for development. This means that the telescopic wheel loader has the stereo steering and, thanks to the hydrostatic drive, reaches a top speed of 38 km/h as standard. Instead of a classic wheel loader mast, the telescopic wheel loader has an extendable telescopic lifting arm with which it can reach a lifting height of up to 4.8 m with a loading fork, for example. Thanks to the telescopic mast with integrated Z-kinematics, the machine operator can load containers and trucks or stack loads at great heights.
