Extrapyramidal symptoms: case report A 61-year-old man was admitted with 1-month history of manic symptoms. He had a previous history of depressive mood, urinary incontinence, ataxia and memory impairment for which he had received bupropion [amfebutamone]. Following admission, he started receiving quetiapine 100 mg/day for his manic symptoms [route not stated]. He subsequently developed significant extrapyramidal symptoms, including salivation, tremor and psychomotor agitation, with recurrence of ataxia and urinary incontinence [duration of therapy to reaction onset not stated]. After approximately 1 week, he was switched to aripiprazole. Within 2 weeks, his manic symptoms had improved and no extrapyramidal symptoms were observed. Lee C-Y, et al.
