Hydroxychloroquine Retinal toxicity: case report

In a cross-sectional study conducted in USA, involving 36 patients, one patient [age and sex not stated] was described, who developed retinal toxicity in the form of reduced contrast in night vision during treatment with hydroxychloroquine [indication, route, dose, duration of treatment to reaction onset and outcome not stated]. The patient received hydroxychloroquine. Subsequently, the patient developed of visual disturbance in the form of reduced contrast in night vision. Consequently, hydroxychloroquine was discontinued. This patient was classified as having mild retinal toxicity, despite no abnormalities detected on optical coherence tomography imaging. Sauer L, et al.
