Visual loss and corneal oedema following intravitreal implant migration: case report A 54-year-old woman developed visual loss and corneal oedema following anterior chamber migration of an intravitreal dexamethasone implant [Ozurdex]. The woman had a history of corneal transplant, crystalline lens ablation and vitrectomy, with implantation of a scleralfixated posterior chamber lens. She subsequently presented with macular oedema secondary to central retinal vein occlusion, and received injection of an intravitreal dexamethasone implant [dosage not stated]. One month later, she presented with painless reduction in visual acuity. Slit lamp examination showed discrete corneal oedema associated with the Ozurdex implant in the anterior chamber at the endothelial contact site. The woman underwent surgical removal of the dexamethasone implant. Her corneal oedema subsequently resolved and her visual acuity improved. Author comment: We report the first case of anterior chamber migration of a dexamethasone implant in a patient with a scleral-affixed posterior chamber lens implant. Laplace O, et al.
